Two owners and sixteen taps
Sean and I opened the Kettle & Tap in 2018, in a storefront that had been a shoe repair shop for 51 years. The patio used to be its parking lot.
Sean chooses every beer on the list, and he’s been to all but a handful of the breweries that make them. I run the kitchen and write the Tuesday trivia.

The taproom
What regulars say
A September Saturday on the patio with the band playing inside is hard to beat. One star off because our fries came out lukewarm.
Sean knew which beers had just come in and poured us tastes of three before we picked. The beef on weck is the best I’ve had east of Buffalo.
We booked the back room for my dad’s 70th. Molly set up the long table, the wings kept coming, and the bill matched the quote to the dollar.
Every tap is from New York, and I’ve found three breweries here I’d never heard of. Happy hour makes it easy to try them.
Trivia is hard in a good way. Our team has come most Tuesdays since 2023, and we’ve won exactly twice.
Questions we get at the bar
What are your hours?
Tuesday to Thursday 3 to 10, Friday and Saturday noon to midnight, and Sunday noon to 8. We’re closed on Mondays.
Do you take bookings?
For eight or more, yes: call or send a message and we’ll hold the long table. Smaller groups can walk in, and there’s nearly always room at the bar or on the patio.
Is there food?
A short pub menu: beef on weck, smash burgers, wings, pierogi, and a haddock fish fry on Fridays. The kitchen closes at 9 on weeknights, 10 on Fridays and Saturdays, and 7 on Sundays.
Can we hire the place out?
The back room seats 40 and can be booked any night we’re open, with a $400 food and drink minimum and no room fee. On Mondays, when we’re closed, you can have the whole taproom.
Is there a cover charge?
Never: not for trivia, not for the bands, and not on New Year’s Eve.
Can we split the check?
As many ways as you like. We take cards, cash, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and we’ll keep a tab open with a card.
Can my dog come too?
On the patio, yes, and there’s a water bowl by the gate. Inside, service dogs only.
Planning a party?
The back room seats 40 for birthdays, rehearsal dinners and work nights. Send the date and Molly will reply with a menu and a price.
Visit the taproom
No need to book for fewer than eight. For a bigger group or the back room, send the details and we’ll reply within a day.
